E1 Entertainment has acquired Urban Archipelago Films' production of RAY BRADBURY'S CHRYSALIS for DVD distribution. The film will make its debut on the DVD format on July 27, 2010. The feature film adaptation of the internationally acclaimed author's short story was the recipient of the Best Sci-Fi Feature Award at the International Horror and Science Fiction Film Festival. Other recent and upcoming genre releases from E-1 Entertainment include William Shatner's GROOM LAKE, THE HAUNTED AIRMAN starring Robert Pattison (TWILIGHT), and the SyFy Channel hit series SANCTUARY starring Amanda Tapping (STARGATE SG-1).
The deal for CHRYSALIS was brokered through Lightning Media, which holds domestic distribution rights for the film. Lightning has also made the film available ON DEMAND through major digital cable providers including Time Warner Cable, Charter, and Brighthouse. RAY BRADBURY'S CHRYSALIS was produced by Roger Lay, Jr. and features special make up and creature effects by Emmy Award winning FX artist Lee Romaire (SIX FEET UNDER, BUFFY: THE VAMPIRE SLAYER, WAR OF THE WORLDS).
